A special time spent together as a family on a special day, in a whole villa where you can relax without worrying about anyone else.

Try kayaking on Lake Kawaguchiko! Even for a first-timer like Mom, the staff's careful instructions leave plenty of room to take in the view of Mt. Fuji. Awed by its sheer size, you find that your everyday worries suddenly feel small.

After arriving, everyone takes a breather. Mom heads to the bath a little early — meanwhile, the kids and Dad quietly start on some kind of secret preparation.

The long-awaited wood-fired course dinner arrives. Even the kids, who don't usually eat much fish, are amazed by the delicious Fuji-no-Suke pie. Mom finds a white wine that pairs perfectly with the Koshu beef and decides to bring a bottle home.

Once everyone's full, it's time to relax and chat in the living room. Between the kids' extracurricular activities and Mom and Dad's work schedules, it's rare for the whole family to be together \xE2\x80\x94 so the kids are thrilled: "We get to be together all day today!" In the middle of it all, it's present time for Mom. Today, it turns out, is the day Dad and Mom first met. Not their wedding anniversary, not the day they started dating \xE2\x80\x94 but on this fateful date, Dad and the kids planned a surprise of their own.

That night, Mom can't help but smile as her son keeps asking, beaming, "Mom, did you like your present?" Watching their son and daughter sleep peacefully, Mom and Dad find themselves drifting off too before they know it. Even Mom, who usually stays up late, falls asleep tonight snuggled up with the kids, her heart full of happiness.

It's been a while since the whole family sat down to breakfast together. The meal that's usually rushed through against the clock becomes, this morning, a joy to savor slowly.

After a full, satisfying breakfast, the trip continues. You check out and head toward the Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum, a spot Mom had been wanting to visit. One more place added to the family's collection of memories. Already, Mom and the kids are quietly plotting a surprise of their own — for Dad, next time.
